Saturday 29.04.2006:

Most visitors had arrived on Friday on the German Wings Flight from Stansted. They were met by hosts and transferred to Rheinbach by private cars.

On Saturday morning almost everybody was treated to an excellent guided tour of the city of Bonn. This included the Minster, the Roman Remains, and the ex-government quarter.

After a tasty lunch at the Residence Hotel, the visitors were treated to an informative tour of the Bonn University Botanical Gardens.

Sunday 30.04.2006: Friends of Rheinbach link up with Friends of Pontoise to host a joint stand at the annual town fair. On Sunday Morning at 11:00,  a ceremony was held to name a traffic roundabout  (Click for more photos)  in the centre of Rheinbach after Sevenoaks. One of 3 plaques placed on the roundabout was unveiled by Bürgermeister Stefan Raetz, assisted by members of the FvS and FoR.

The ceremony was followed by a reception at the town hall where the Bürgermeister extended his warm greetings to the group.

On Sunday afternoon some of the guests also witnessed the erection of the Rheinbach Maibaum (May tree)

Sunday ended in style with superb buffet-dinner at the Glass School.  Chris Ide presented Siegfried Formanski with a genuine "Sevenoaks" oak tree along with a plaque to commemorate 10 years of friendship

Monday 01.05.2006:

Following individual programmes with host families, most of the guests returned to Sevenoaks.

The Friends of Rheinbach would like to extend warm thanks to the members of the FvS who organised the visit and managed to look after us so well once again !
