Wednesday 15th June 2005:

Most visitors arrived by bus direct from Rheinbach on Wednesday afternoon.  A welcome reception including  “Afternoon Tea” was arranged at the Council Offices on Bradbourne Road.

Thursday 16th June 2005:

Most visitors spent the day visiting Hever Castle using their own bus. A few members of FoR accompanied them.

Friday 17th June 2005:

Another visit was arranged, this time to Sissinghurst and Tunbridge Wells. On the return trip to Sevenoaks the accelerator cable of the bus snapped on Sevenoaks hill leaving the passengers stranded. Eventually all were rescued by FoR members in their cars. The bus was towed to the town council office car park and a repair team called from Germany.

Saturday 18th June 2005:

Friends of Rheinbach participated in the Sevenoaks Town Fair for the first time with a stall decorated in flags and filled with literature. The stall attracted a lot of attention including a visit from the town mayor !

Meanwhile many of the visitors toured the town enjoying morning coffee at the Vine Cricket Club in the beautiful sunshine.

On Saturday evening, all the visitors and their hosts attended a dinner combined with a murder mystery evening. The murder mystery had an Egyptian theme. The winning team were presented with certificates and books.

Sunday 19th June 2005:

The guests boarded their bus (now mended!) for the return journey at 10:30. We heard later that they had an uneventful journey back to Rheinbach!
